Democrats Keep Saying They Do Not Want Joe Biden To Run In 2024

Joe Biden wants to run for re-election.

There is just one big problem.

And that’s the fact that Democrats keep saying they do not want Joe Biden to run in 2024.

As Black Eye Politics reports:

With Joe Biden having signaled that he intends to run for a second term in 2024, Democrats have slowly but surely cleared the field for him to sweep the party’s primary nomination with little serious competition.

This comes after months of speculation that some major Democrat primary contender could emerge to challenge Biden for the nomination. But with Democrats now reluctantly moving in lock-step with Biden, the prospect of a competitive Democratic primary contest now appears to have almost no chance of happening.

But even as Biden gears up for a potential re-election bid in 2024, two new polls from the Associated Press and Washington Post both reveal that the vast majority of Democrats remain unhappy with the idea of being stuck with Biden as their nominee.

And a depressed Democratic Party is not what Biden needs in order to win a second term.

MSN reports, “As President Biden prepares for an expected re-election bid, Democratic leaders are increasingly enthusiastic about his candidacy. Many of his party’s voters aren’t on board.

“Concerns about Mr. Biden’s age and abilities are front of mind for some Democrats, even those who think the 80-year-old president has done well during his first two years in office, according to recent polling and Wall Street Journal interviews with more than two dozen people around the country who voted for Mr. Biden in 2020.”

The results of both polls, conducted by left-wing media outlets who are usually on Biden’s side, reveal deep issues within the Democratic Party that could end up costing Biden his re-election in 2024.

MSN reports, “A recent poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs showed that 62% of Democrats didn’t want Mr. Biden to seek a second term, while 37% did.

“A Washington Post-ABC poll showed that 58% percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents would prefer to nominate someone other than Mr. Biden, while 31% favored nominating Mr. Biden.”

In both of these polls, Biden cannot even get a majority of his own party members to say they support him running for a second term, even as political operatives within the Democratic Party pave the way for Biden to be re-nominated without much of a fight.

And if the primary polls concern Biden, then the general polls from these two media outlets are catastrophic.

“In a hypothetical matchup of Mr. Biden and former President Donald Trump, 48% of overall voters in the Washington Post-ABC poll favored Mr. Trump, while 45% preferred Mr. Biden. The difference was within the poll’s margin of error,” adds MSN.

This is a major turnaround from 2020, where polls showed Biden would defeat Trump comfortably.

Trump has a long track record of outperforming his polling numbers in almost every single election.

And if Joe Biden cannot defeat Trump in hypothetical polling at this point, it suggests that he is starting off the 2024 race as the underdog.
