Congressional Democrats didn’t have any interest in investigating the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop even after they were proven to be authentic.
The allegation that Joe Biden was receiving a cut of money from the lucrative business deals his son, Hunter Biden, was making with companies tied to foreign governments while Joe Biden was vice president needs to be taken seriously.
The New York Post reported that the “Biden family has done five deals in China totaling some $31 million arranged by individuals with direct ties to Chinese intelligence.”
Before getting into office Biden was saying China wasn’t “competition” and ever since his policies have been remarkably soft.
It’s vitally important for America’s national security to know what involvement Joe Biden had in his son’s business deals with the USA’s foremost adversary.
However, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre blames Republicans for even investigating when Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy questioned her on the subject.
“With the new Republican majority coming in, the House Oversight Committee is laying out their new investigations, and they claim it had evidence that Joe Biden lied to the American people about his involvement in his family’s business schemes. Did he?” Doocy asked at Tuesday’s press briefing.
“So look, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. House Republicans promise that fighting inflation during the midterms was going to be their number one priority, that is what they said was important to them and that’s what they said they wanted to do,” Jean-Pierre said. “But instead, what they’re doing, is wanting to start an investigation on the president and his family. They don’t want to focus on the American people and their family, they want to focus on political division. They want to focus on something that the American people do not want to see, as we saw from the midterm elections.”
Jean-Pierre added that she wasn’t going to get into specifics.
The one thing that’s notable in Jean-Pierre’s long answer is that she never actually responded to Doocy’s question.
Last year Doocy had asked the same question of former White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
“The President has said that he never spoke to his son about his overseas business dealings. Is that still the case?” Doocy asked.
“Yes,” Psaki said.
The changing responses from the White House press secretaries show that Biden isn’t as comfortable with his repeated claim that he had nothing to do with his son’s business deals now that Republicans have the power to investigate.
