Poll Shows Joe Biden Losing Critical Swing State To Donald Trump

Democrats don’t want Joe Biden to run because they are afraid he is a weak candidate.

Those fears are well founded.

And a shocking new poll shows Joe Biden losing critical swing state to Donald Trump.

As Black Eye Politics reports:

Joe Biden has a rocky road ahead of him if he wants to win a second term in 2024.

With Biden being forced to defend a host of competitive tossup states in the next election, and with Republicans having made major inroads in Ohio and Florida following Donald Trump’s back-to-back victories in both states in 2016 and 2020, the next presidential electoral map appears to be a tossup.

This, combined with Florida’s status as America’s premier swing state now being thrown into doubt after Ron DeSantis’ landslide re-election victory as the state’s governor in 2022, means that Biden is likely to be playing defense in 2024.

And there’s very few states that he can afford to lose.

But there is one state in particular that Joe Biden originally didn’t expect to even be competitive in the next election.

And now, a shocking new poll reveals that one former blue state is not only in play for Republicans, but Biden himself is currently on track to be the first Democrat to lose it in 20 years.

The Nevada Independent reports, “With President Joe Biden likely to announce his re-election campaign in coming months, a new Nevada Independent / OH Predictive Insights poll finds him trailing both former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“The poll found DeSantis with a sizable lead over Biden – 42 percent of Nevada voters would vote for the Floridian firebrand expected to challenge Trump for the Republican presidential nomination and 36 percent would commit to Biden.”

Nevada had been firmly in the Democrat camp for decades.

After having voted for Barack Obama in back-to-back landslides in 2008 and in 2012, the Silver State then went on to back Hillary Clinton in 2016 and then Joe Biden in 2020.

Democrats have been winning Nevada for nearly 20 years, and yet Joe Biden is currently on track to be the first Democrat to lose the state since John Kerry in 2004, according to this brand-new Nevada Independent / OH Predictive Insights poll.

And to make matters even more dire for Democrats, Biden himself can’t even crack 40% in this poll.

“Biden – who won Nevada in 2020 by just over 2 percentage points – remains unpopular in the Silver State. His approval rating stands at 40 percent, with 55 percent of respondents expressing disapproval. In a poll from August 2022, before the midterm elections, public opinion in Nevada was nearly identical, with Biden holding a 41 percent approval rating and 57 percent disapproving,” adds the Nevada Independent.

Without Nevada’s electoral votes, Biden would be forced to win at least three out of five states between Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia in order to still win the White House.

Mathematically, it would put his odds of winning a second term below 50%, and give Republicans a boost in their bid to retake Arizona and Georgia in the next election.

And with this same poll showing that less than 30% of Nevadans approve of Biden’s handling of the southern border, it’s clear that he starts off the 2024 election cycle as an underdog in this must-win swing state.
