Donald Trump changed politics forever when he ran for president.
The establishment had a plan to respond.
And Trey Gowdy had this message that totally blindsided Donald Trump.

On his Sunday night Fox News show, Gowdy took dead aim at the media and their reaction to Trump’s win in 2016.
Gowdy contrasted how the press treated Trump’s win to the demands that every American fall in line behind Barack Obama’s socialist agenda.
“In 2008, Barack Obama defeated John McCain and the message from the media was clear – get on board,” Gowdy began.
“So too in 2012, Mitt Romney won 47 percent of the vote, close to half the country, but there was no talk of understanding the other side,” Gowdy added.
“And then came 2016, which shocked the left and the media – to the extent there is a difference,” Gowdy continued.
Gowdy said so-called “journalists” all ended up with egg on their faces since none of the alleged political “experts” thought Trump had a snowball’s chance in hell of winning.
“Virtually no one forecast victory by a New York billionaire with virtually no political experience,” Gowdy told viewers.
But once the left got over their shock, they began to mobilize to overthrow Trump’s presidency through illegitimate means.
“And the shock gave way to anger which morphed into negative usurping action,” Gowdy stated.
Gowdy explained Democrats and the deep state whipped up the Russia collusion hoax and the press happily cheered on what amounted to the greatest political crime and attack on American elections in history.
“The legitimacy of his election was questioned and then challenged and investigated by intelligence and law enforcement officials while the media cheered loudly,” Gowdy empathized.
Gowdy remarked that the press never engaged in any actual journalism to try and figure out the basis of Trump’s appeal.
“Not once did I hear a liberal media personality even attempt to understand why a candidate like Donald Trump could appeal to so many people,” Gowdy declared.
Gowdy said at first the press tried to pretend that Trump was somehow separate from his supporters.
But Gowdy added the media won’t even pretend to play that game anymore and now they are just hoping for Trump’s demise as Gowdy played a clip of Jen Psaki saying some Trump supporters are hoping Trump dies.
Gowdy also displayed a tweet from former CNN reporter Michelle Kosinski who posted on X that she had dinner with a bunch of Trump supporters who seemed normal at first, but who Kosinski then claimed all held dangerous viewpoints.
Gowdy said the view in the press that their opponents are all misinformed conspiracy theorists who would all vote Democrat if they had only read the “right” news is the result of living in a bubble.
“When a Democrat wins everyone needs to get in line and when a Republican like Trump wins people need to be reprogrammed,” Gowdy said.
“That’s what happens when no one you know votes for the other side,” Gowdy concluded.
