Swing State Poll Numbers Shake Up the Race

The media wants to tell a story about Kamala Harris and her honeymoon period.

But that just went up in smoke.

And Kamala Harris saw shocking poll numbers that stopped her cold in her tracks.

As 2024 Battleground reports:

Sometimes pollsters can produce outliers.

Other times, they’re the canary in the coal mine.

Trump and his campaign believe the latest poll by Scott Rasmussen’s RMG Research is the latter.

RMG Research’s latest poll showed Harris leading Trump by one point with registered voters and tied with likely voters.

Napolitan News Service – which sponsored the poll – explained this was a big deal because it represented a four-point shift to Trump in a week and may be the first sign that the honeymoon bounce was beginning to recede for Harris.

“Last week, a Scott Rasmussen national survey found Harris leading by five among Registered Voters (47% to 42%). These latest results could suggest that the initial Harris bounce has come to an end,” Napolitan News Service wrote of the poll.

Trump also got good news in the form of a series of swing state polls from the Trafalgar Group and Insider Advantage.

Donald Trump led Harris in five of the six battlegrounds surveyed.

According to the map as these polls present, Trump would defeat Harris 297 to 241 in the Electoral College.

This is a far cry from the 340 vote plus margin Trump looked set to run up against Joe Bidne before Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama forced Biden from the race.

But that electoral map went out the window once Harris replaced Biden and the Democrat Party and all its various institutions rallied around her.

However, it would be a victory nonetheless.

Harris saw a massive surge in swing state and national polls once she replaced Biden.

Some argued it was the result of response bias as Democrats were more likely to answer polls since they were super enthusiastic about Biden being gone and thinking the party had a chance to win the election.

If that is the case – or the RMG Research poll is accurate – the upcoming round of polling will show either Harris’ lead shrinking or Donald Trump moving ahead.
