The left is furious with Chuck Schumer.
Schumer may not survive the uprising against him.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has one sick plan to end Chuck Schumer’s career.
As Swamp Digest reports:
If Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ran against Chuck Schumer for U.S. Senate, it’s hard to imagine she wouldn’t have a real chance at winning.
She’d be able to raise an unfathomable amount of money and support from all over the country, meanwhile, Schumer is not exactly known for being the most charismatic or likeable figure in the world of politics.
This means the decision to end Schumer’s career is almost entirely in Ocasio-Cortez’s hands, and she is being urged by some people to do it.
Schumer is being heavily criticized by his party for not being aggressive enough in the threat of a government shutdown to fight against the Trump administration.
There’s massive tension among the Democrats, and Chuck Schumer and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are right in the middle of it.
According to CNN, “New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Thursday that she plans to mobilize her massive base of followers to oppose what she described as an ‘acquiesce’ by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to accept the House GOP funding bill.”
“Privately, House Democrats are so infuriated with Schumer’s decision that some have begun encouraging her to run against Schumer in a primary, according to a Democratic member who directly spoke with Ocasio-Cortez about running at the caucus’ policy retreat. Multiple Democrats in the Congressional Progressive Caucus and others directly encouraged Ocasio-Cortez to run on Thursday night after Schumer’s announcement, this member said.”
It’s an open question whether Schumer would even bother running for re-election if he ends up being challenged by Ocasio-Cortez.
“Asked by CNN about fellow Democrats encouraging her to challenge Schumer, Ocasio-Cortez declined to answer and said she was focused on keeping Democrats from backing the funding bill: ‘We still have an opportunity to correct course here, and that is my number one priority.’”
“But speaking to reporters, Ocasio-Cortez did not hold back on her criticism of Senate Democrats for backing out of a vote that all but one battleground House Democrat was willing to take,” CNN reported.
If Ocasio-Cortez was definitively not running against Schumer, it would’ve been very easy for her to say, “Despite our differences, I support Sen. Schumer’s re-election and I will not challenge him.”
The fact she didn’t endorse him raises serious questions that maybe she really is considering running against him.
And if she does challenge Schumer, it will be one of the biggest stories of the year.
