Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez knows how to generate attention.
It’s a talent that doesn’t always work in her favor.
And now Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wanted to run and hide after this stunt blew up in her face.
As Great American Daily reports:
The crisis at the southern border is consuming the Biden administration and threatening the Democrat majorities in the House of Representatives and Senate next November.
Illegal aliens are flooding the border in the biggest numbers since 2000.
Record numbers of illegal alien children are housed in holding pens stuffed well past capacity.
And in the Rio Grande Valley, the Biden administration authorized releasing illegal aliens into the country with no court date given for a deportation hearing and no way to contact them.
NBC News reports, “Border agents in the Rio Grande Valley, the center of the migrant surge, were authorized Saturday to begin releasing adult migrants and families from custody before they have been given dates to appear in court, according to an internal document obtained by NBC News.”
That is the definition of an open border.
In 2019, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez smeared Donald Trump as running a concentration camp for housing illegal alien children in the same facility Joe Biden now does.
At another staged photo op, Ocasio-Cortez cried at the chain link fence protecting a detention facility.
Considering immigration is a signature issue for Ocasio-Cortez and the socialist congresswoman never shies away from a media circus, it was surprising to find out that Ocasio-Cortez went underground during the Biden border crisis.
The New York Post reports:
AOC, a vocal opponent of the Trump administration’s immigration policies, has only spoken out twice against President Biden’s handling of the migrant surge and subsequent border crisis.
Both times came on the same day in late February, when she wrote in response to a report about migrant facilities being opened for children under the new president, “This is not okay, never has been okay, never will be okay – no matter the administration or party.”
Ocasio-Cortez is an advocate for complete open borders.
Joe Biden adopted as much of a permissive border policy agenda as he could with his executive orders.
Ocasio-Cortez has kept hidden from the public view rather than be asked to criticize a president of her own party or have to answer questions about how the policy options she supports caused a record crisis at the southern border.
No one in Washington has seen anything like this since Ocasio-Cortez first entered Congress in 2019.
And it’s not just that Ocasio-Cortez avoided TV interviews or photo ops.
Ocasio-Cortez would not touch the border crisis on her Twitter feed.
Social media is what made Ocasio-Cortez a star.
If Ocasio-Cortez is avoiding commenting on the border on her social media then she knows just how toxic this topic is for the Democrats.
