Barack Obama Is Going To Wish He Never Insulted Ron DeSantis In This Terrible Way

Democrats called Barack Obama out of the bullpen for a late election rally.

It did not go well.

And Barack Obama is going to wish he never insulted Ron DeSantis in this terrible way.

As Great American Daily reports:

Former President Barack Obama tried to take shots at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) while he was endorsing DeSantis’ gubernatorial opponent Charlie Crist (D) in a video on Friday.

Democrats don’t have any solutions for the problems that Americans are facing so instead they are relying on low personal attacks.

“Hey Florida, we have a lot of work to do. And it starts with making Charlie Crist your next governor,” Obama said, adding, “So if you’re ready for a governor who cares about people instead of bullying them, who will fight for voting rights, and a woman’s right to choose, who understands the challenges you’re facing every day, and who will fight for you — vote for Charlie Crist.”

But Obama’s veiled accusation that DeSantis is a bully makes no sense since Crist has consistently resorted to derogatory language in order to attack DeSantis, going so far as to call Florida’s governor “DeSatan.”

While Crist picked up Obama’s endorsement DeSantis received four new endorsements of his own on the same day from the National Federation of Independent Business Florida PAC, the Florida Trucking Association PAC, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida, and the Florida Home Builders Association.

A recent poll from Florida Atlantic University’s Business and Economics Polling Initiative found that DeSantis is leading against Crist by 11 percentage points. They found that DeSantis leads Crist 51 percent to 40 percent in a survey of registered voters.

DeSantis holds a 53% approval rating, and 63% of respondents said they approved of DeSantis’ handling of the deadly Hurricane Ian.

“The governor’s hurricane response received strong approval among Floridians, who most likely favor him in the upcoming gubernatorial race,” said Monica Escaleras, Ph.D., director of FAU BEPI.

At the same time Crist’s campaign has been filled with scandal as his campaign manager was arrested for domestic violence last week.

Austin Durrer, Crist’s longtime aide, is now facing second-degree assault charges.

Crist’s campaign abruptly announced that Durrer resigned on Thursday.

“Austin Durrer has departed the campaign to focus on a family matter,” Crist campaign spokesperson Samantha Ramirez told Florida Politics on Thursday without elaborating.

In the past Obama campaigned for DeSantis’ last opponent, Democrat Andrew Gillum, in the 2018 election.

Gillum has been charged with 21 felonies related to his failed 2018 Florida gubernatorial campaign.

“The Indictment alleges that between 2016 and 2019, defendants Gillum and Lettman-Hicks conspired to commit wire fraud, by unlawfully soliciting and obtaining funds from various entities and individuals through false and fraudulent promises and representations that the funds would be used for a legitimate purpose,” United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, Jason R. Coody, said in a statement. “The Indictment further alleges the defendants used third parties to divert a portion of those funds to a company owned by Lettman-Hicks, who then fraudulently provided the funds, disguised as payroll payments, to Gillum for his personal use.”
