Democrats were begging Chuck Schumer to more forcefully resist Donald Trump.
This likely isn’t what liberals had in mind.
And Chuck Schumer started a fight with DOGE and you won’t believe how it ended.
As 2024 Battleground reports:
Democrats are the party of elites, which means they are the party of institutions.
That puts Democrats in the position of defending the status quo of the federal bureaucracy and America’s $36 trillion in debt against President Trump, Elon Musk, and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Americans hate faceless, unelected bureaucrats that do nothing but cause inconvenience in their lives and implement regulations that assault their freedom.
To counteract that natural inclination among the voters, Schumer, his fellow Democrats, and the media are trying to concoct a fake scandal about how Musk is operating lawlessly, even though he is an executive branch employee working at the behest of the President to audit the executive branch.
But this is the only hand Democrats have left to play because a recent CBS poll showed Donald Trump’s approval rating at 53 percent with 70 percent saying Trump kept his campaign promises.
So Schumer announced on social media he was creating a portal for deep state bureaucrats to report the supposed “abuse” they’ve experienced at the hands of Elon Musk and DOGE.
“Today, I’m calling on our brave public servants,” Schumer posted. “I’m launching a new portal for anyone who wants to expose corruption, abuses of power, and threats to public safety with the legal protections of being a whistleblower.”
That quickly proved to be a spectacularly bad idea.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz responded and said he would like to report Schumer, Kamala Harris, and Joe Biden for weaponizing the government against Donald Trump.
“Great! I wanna report: Joe Biden. Kamala Harris. Chuck Schumer,” Cruz posted on X.
“And the entire corrupt Democrat party that weaponized & abused the federal government for the past four years.”
Judicial Network president Carrie Severino also turned Schumer in.
Severino cited Schumer’s incendiary March 2020 rhetoric where he threatened Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh if they ruled against the left in an abortion case.
“I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price!” Schumer raged. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
This was serious business, Severino wrote.
“’Threats to public safety…’” Severino stated.
“This is rich coming from Senator Schumer, who stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and threatened Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, saying they would ‘pay the price’ for exercising judicial review.”
And two years after Schumer’s rant, a Joe Biden supporter did try to kill Justice Kavanaugh in his home as retribution for the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
