The Supreme Court is the current target of the left’s wrath.

Democrats are crossing the line.

And Clarence Thomas said one dangerous thing about America that changed forever.

As American Patriot Daily reports:

Justice Clarence Thomas is not known for injecting himself into public debates.

But when Thomas does speak out, people listen.

And Clarence Thomas told Americans some really bad news about the Supreme Court.

Appearing at an event hosted by the American Enterprise Institute, the Manhattan Institute and the Hoover Institution in Dallas, Justice Clarence Thomas publicly addressed the issue of someone leaking a draft opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito striking down Roe v. Wade.

The leak initiated a rage mob on the left as insurrectionists violated state and federal law to intimidate the justices into changing their votes by mobilizing outside of the conservative members of the court’s homes.

Justice Thomas told attendees that the leak represented a crossing the Rubicon moment that would change the Supreme Court forever.

“The institution that I’m a part of, if someone said that one line of one opinion would be leaked by anyone … you would say, ‘Oh, that’s impossible. No one would ever do that.’ There’s such a belief in the rule of law, belief in the court, a belief in what we were doing that that was verboten. It was beyond anyone’s understanding, or at least anyone’s imagination, that someone would do that,” Justice Thomas stated.

Justice Thomas added that the leak would shatter the bond of trust between not only the justices, but also between the public and the court, and the people would now view the court as another partisan political actor.

“And look where we are, where now that trust or that belief is gone forever. And when you lose that trust, especially in the institution that I’m in, it changes the institution fundamentally,” Justice Thomas added.

Justice Thomas warned that not only was the leak bad for the Supreme Court, the leak threatened to destroy the ability to stabilize society to function if Americans no longer trusted institutions.

“I do think that what happened at the court is tremendously bad. I think it’s — I wonder how long we’re going to have these institutions at the rate we’re undermining them,” Justice Thomas concluded. “And then I wonder when they’re gone, or they are destabilized, what we will have as a country. And I don’t think that the prospects are good if we continue to lose, though.”

One of the goals of the leaker was likely to delegitimize the Supreme Court.

The late Rush Limbaugh used to say that abortion was the holy sacrament of modern liberalism.

If the conservative justices were determined to overturn Roe v. Wade the leaker hoped to inject politics into the decision by funneling the opinion to the media to generate protests and violent opposition.

The leaker succeeded on that count.

But Justice Thomas cautioned Americans that the nation will pay the ultimate price.
