Donald Trump’s re-election campaign is off and running.

But it isn’t going the way anyone thought.

And Donald Trump did a double take when he saw this shocking new 2024 poll.

As Conservative Revival reports:

Ever since Donald Trump left office and made it clear he intended to run again for president in 2024 polls showed Trump the favorite for the 2024 nomination.

But after the midterm election that began to shift.

Some on the right blamed Trump for the GOP’s poor performance in the midterm election by endorsing a slate of candidates that alienated swing voters by centering their campaign on relitigating the 2020 election.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis romping to a 19-point landslide re-election win in Florida where DeSantis flipped Democrat strongholds like Palm Beach County and Miami-Dade County while also winning 57 percent of the Hispanic vote showed a viable alternative to Trump for the first time.

DeSantis’ route after fighting back against woke corporations, banning teachers grooming children into transgenderism in schools, and rejecting mask mandates and lockdowns demonstrated a Republican could fight the left, implement a conservative agenda, and grow the GOP coalition rocketed DeSantis to the forefront of the 2024 conservation.

Now new polling data shows DeSantis as the strongest candidate Republicans can win.

An Emerson poll of Georgia found Joe Biden leading Trump by six points whereas DeSantis lead Biden by three points.

“Among Georgia independent voters, Biden leads Trump by 6 points in a hypothetical contest, with 20% supporting ‘someone else.’ However, when the matchup is Biden vs. DeSantis, the Republican leads by three points, only 8% support “someone else,” Executive Director of Emerson College Polling Spencer Kimball

Kimball explained that DeSantis ran better than Trump against Biden with the key swing voter demographics.

“Among women, Biden leads Trump by seven points. Against DeSantis, Biden’s lead shrinks to two points. Among men, Trump leads Biden by eight, and DeSantis leads Biden by 11,” Kimball added.

Conservative polling firm WPA Intelligence released a new poll showing DeSantis more popular than Trump with core conservative constituencies and running stronger than Biden and Trump with ticket splitting voters.

WPA Intelligence’s polling memo found:

Ticket splitting voters were the key to Democrats keeping the Senate and wining virtually all the contested gubernatorial elections.

In Georgia, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Kansas, and Nevada Democrats split the Gubernatorial and Senate races.

That’s because a subset of voters was willing to vote for Republicans but not the Republicans Trump endorsed and campaigned for.

Ron DeSantis is popular with these voters whereas Donald Trump and Joe Biden are underwater.

And in a close election that could prove the difference between victory and defeat.
