Donald Trump is about to face a fork in the road.

It’s all about the next election.

And Donald Trump is facing a 2024 decision that will turn his life upside.

As Conservative Revival reports:

Donald Trump is likely not going to be the only person to file for the Republican nomination for president in 2024.

MSN reports, “So far, Trump is the only major candidate who has officially announced his 2024 bid. But both publicly and behind the scenes, major Republican figures are laying the foundations for potential campaigns, according to a review of their activities and interviews with people familiar with the planning, some of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal strategy.”

Some of the names that have been thrown around include Mike Pompeo, Asa Hutchinson, Nikki Haley, and Mike Pence.

But none of these potential candidates can likely hold a candle to one governor who likely poses the greatest challenge to Trump’s planned third presidential campaign.

After years of speculation, and barely a month after his landslide re-election victory, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is taking major steps to lay the groundwork for a presidential campaign of his own.

And there are signs that he could be announcing a primary challenge to Trump in early 2023.

“Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis just restarted his Google and Facebook ads, targeting a national audience ahead of a state legislative session he believes will highlight causes that will help him in a presidential primary, according to a Republican consultant familiar with his operation,” adds MSN.

With DeSantis already having nationwide recognition following his crushing victory against Democrats in America’s largest swing state, and with Republicans across the country hailing his handling of COVID, his pushback against Joe Biden’s agenda within Florida, and his criticism of woke policies being perpetuated by Washington D.C., Wall Street, and Silicon Valley, DeSantis is widely considered to be a top-tier favorite for winning the Republican nomination, alongside Trump himself.

In fact, some political experts are already predicting that the 2024 race could end up being a two man match between DeSantis and Trump.

And with both men having considerable strengths and followings within the Republican party, Trump is facing the possibility of a far more difficult primary race than the one he had to fight through in 2016.

In 2016, Trump faced a largely divided opposition which spanned multiple ideological wings of the party.

What’s more, his top rivals ran largely weak “low-energy” campaigns that allowed Trump to capitalize off of the personal shortcomings of most of his opponents.

But DeSantis is not “low energy”, and with a record that makes him among the most conservative governors in the entire country, the 2024 primary race could end up being Trump’s most difficult election yet.

And with the Florida governor having already begun airing ads across the country, the only question remaining is when DeSantis will formally announce that he is running.
