Democrats do not like where they stand as Americans start to think about 2022.
Now President Trump is entering the picture.
Donald Trump made a big swing state announcement that put Joe Biden on edge.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
The Senate is split even 50/50.
To claim a majority, Republicans need to flip just one seat.
But Democrats believe the Senate map favors them as Republicans must defend seats in swing states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
In the 2016 and 2020 elections, Pennsylvania decided the winner of the presidency.
Next year whoever wins the Pennsylvania open Senate seat is likely to hold the majority in the U.S. Senate in 2023.
Pennsylvania’s anti-gun and pro-impeachment RINO Pat Toomey stepped down creating one of the most competitive races in the country.
Both parties face crowded and competitive primary fields.
The more money candidates spend in a primary attacking their opponents drains the treasury and goodwill necessary to prevail in a general election.
Donald Trump may have just helped Republicans sort out their primary field when Trump endorsed war hero and Afghanistan war veteran Sean Parnell.
In his endorsement, Trump highlighted Parnell’s service in the now legendary “Outlaw Platoon” where 85 percent of the members earned Purple Hearts for suffering injuries in combat during Parnell’s 485 days fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
“Sean Parnell is running for the United States Senate to serve the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Sean bravely fought for our Country as a Captain in the U.S. Army and was awarded two Bronze Stars (one for valor!) and the Purple Heart. Unlike our current administration, he never left anyone behind,” Trump’s statement began.
Trump noted that Parnell lost a razor-thin race for Congress in 2020 and that Parnell’s strong defense of gun rights, the energy industry and opposition to illegal immigration made Parnell the right candidate to earn Trump’s endorsement.
“Sean is a great candidate, who got robbed in his congressional run in the Crime of the Century—the 2020 Presidential Election Scam. He will make Pennsylvania very proud and will fight for Election Integrity, Strong Borders, our Second Amendment, Energy Jobs, and so much more. Sean Parnell will always put America First. He has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” Trump concluded.
In past elections, Trump’s endorsement anointed candidates and allowed them to cruise to the nomination.
In 2018, Donald Trump endorsed Ron DeSantis and Brian Kemp when the two were unknown candidates in the middle of the pack.
DeSantis and Kemp parlayed Trump’s endorsement to victory in highly contested gubernatorial elections.
Trump endorsing Sean Parnell could clear the primary field on the Republican side while the Democrats slug it in a bloody primary fight.
And that dynamic could provide Republicans with a leg up in the Pennsylvania Senate race.
