Donald Trump Shut Down Michelle Obama With This One Sentence

Michelle Obama is out on the campaign trail attacking Donald Trump.

The former First Lady is desperate to prevent Donald Trump from completely erasing Barack Obama’s legacy.

But Donald Trump shut down Michelle Obama with this one sentence.

As Black Eye Politics reports:

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, social distancing guidelines, and endless lockdowns, both political parties will stage virtual conventions.

There will be no arenas filled with cheering supporters, balloons dropping, and confetti.

Instead, the conventions will be run on Zoom as virtual gatherings.

Michelle Obama took advantage of this format and pre-taped her primetime address that will serve as the centerpiece of the first night of the Democrat convention.

At a campaign rally that same day, President Trump mocked Michelle Obama for delivering a pre-taped speech.

“These are all taped speeches. Michelle Obama, her speech was taped,” President Trump told a crowd of supporters in Wisconsin.

Trump ripped Obama’s taped speech as a “snooze.”

“You want to go to a snooze?” Trump continued. “You know when you hear a speech is taped, it’s like there’s nothing very exciting about it, right?”

But it wasn’t just the fact that Michelle Obama taped her speech that made it a disaster.

Obama lied about Joe Biden’s experience and forced attention on one of the great failures of the Obama administration.

“He was a terrific vice president. He knows what it takes to rescue an economy, beat back a pandemic, and lead our country, and he listens and trusts science,” Obama claimed.

“He will make smart plans and manage a good team and he is someone who has lived a life that the rest of us can recognize,” Obama added.

The Obama administration dealt with two viral outbreaks.

In 2014, critics blasted the Obama administration for an ineffective and disorganized response to the Ebola outbreak.

But in 2009 and 2010, the Obama administration badly mismanaged the H1N1 swine flu pandemic that infected 61 million Americans.

The virus spread so out of control that the Obama administration shut down testing to keep the case count as low as possible, arguing that everyone knew there was a pandemic so the number of sick Americans did not matter.

To make matters worse, then Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, said it was merely luck that the swine flu outbreak didn’t turn into a mass casualty event because the administration basically did everything wrong.

“It is purely a fortuity that this isn’t one of the great mass casualty events in American history,” Klain explained. “It had nothing to do with us doing anything right. It just had to do with luck. If anyone thinks that this can’t happen again, they don’t have to go back to 1918, they just have to go back to 2009, 2010 and imagine a virus with a different lethality, and you can just do the math on that.”

If you accept the high end of the case fatality rate for the coronavirus of one percent, 61 million Americans infected amounts to 600,000 deaths, which is about the number killed in the Civil War.

Biden contributed to the administration’s botched response by going on TV and falsely claiming that some sneezing on an airplane would infect every passenger on board, which incited panic and damaged the airline industry.

Michelle Obama’s taped speech was another low light in a widely mocked first night of the Democratic National Convention.

But in addition to the bad optics, Obama drew attention to an issue that could severely damage Biden.

This election could become a referendum on the candidates’ ability to manage the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden’s disastrous history with the Obama administration will not be judged kindly by voters.

And it could lead to his defeat in November.
