This was probably not what Trump anticipated when he attended the event.
Something happened that stunned the onlookers.
And it occurred with Trump just steps away.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
When Donald Trump danced at his rally, he didn’t realize it was going to turn into a nationwide craze, with even some of the top athletes in the world mimicking his dance.
But that is exactly what happened, as the so-called “Trump dance” has swept the nation and made its way into some of the most prominent sporting events in America.
One of these events was a UFC fight that Trump himself was in attendance at, alongside some of the people he has appointed for his fledgling administration.
Jon “Bones” Jones, one of the top fighters in the world, did the dance in celebration of his victory, with Trump right there in the audience, something Trump was thrilled about.
Other athletes did the dance too, including multiple players in the NFL during their Week 11 games.
And while some people who don’t like Trump may have been upset watching this take place, it was all done in good fun.
According to Politico, “Several top sports stars over the weekend appear to have busted out The Trump (think: your awkward uncle dancing at a wedding after quaffing Aperol spritz from the free bar) to celebrate wins and big plays.”
“Cage fighter Jon Jones was first up, busting out the Trump moves seconds after his victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday night — in front of a live audience including Trump himself, billionaire Elon Musk, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, incoming Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and several other MAGA heavyweights.
“Trump shared a video of Jones’ homage on his Truth Social account Sunday.”
UFC fighters have been notoriously pro-Trump on many occasions, so perhaps this wasn’t that surprising.
But what was more surprising was all the NFL players who did the dance as well.
The article continues, “Multiple Detroit Lions defensemen, led by Za’Darius Smith, did the dance to celebrate a big play in the final moments of a huge win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Smith even mimicked a little golf swing, a recent added flourish by Trump to his on-stage boogieing.
“Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers broke out the jig to celebrate a third quarter touchdown, and was later asked about it by a reporter from USA Today.”
“Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley also did the dance after scoring a touchdown in a defeat to the Minnesota Vikings.”
49ers pass rusher Nick Bosa also did the dance during a recent game, which is perhaps less surprising given his vocal support for Donald Trump.
But few people expected players like Smith or Bowers or Ridley to break out an homage to Donald Trump during their games.
Trump likely had no idea what he was getting started when he did this dance, but now it has taken on a life of its own and swept the entire nation.
