The media is already writing their post-mortems on Joe Biden’s failed presidency.
And, as for regrets, Joe Biden has a few.
In a shocking Washington Post profile, Biden and his dead-ender loyalists still think Biden would have beaten Donald Trump and that quitting the campaign in the face of Nancy Pelosi’s pressure campaign was a mistake.
“Biden and some of his aides still believe he should have stayed in the race, despite the rocky debate performance and low poll numbers that prompted Democrats to pressure him to drop out.”
“Biden and these aides have told people in recent days that he could have defeated Trump, according to people familiar with their comments, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private conversations. Aides say the president has been careful not to place blame on Harris or her campaign,” the Post reported.
The whole country saw that Joe Biden was senile in the June 27th debate.
Poll after poll also showed Americans thought Donald Trump was a more successful President.
Even Democrats like former Obama speechwriter and ‘Pod Save America’ co-host Jon Favreau revealed the Biden campaign’s own internal polls showed Donald Trump winning more than 400 Electoral College votes.
“Then we find out when the Biden campaign becomes the Harris campaign, that the Biden campaign’s own internal polling at the time when they were telling us he was the strongest candidate, showed that Donald Trump was going to win 400 electoral votes,” Favreau said in a post-election podcast.
Had Biden stayed in the race, Trump likely would have won New Hampshire, New Mexico, New Jersey, Virginia, Minnesota, and Illinois.
Even New York would have been in play.
But Biden fought to remain in the race because he knew Kamala Harris couldn’t win.
Biden was proven right, but putting Kamala on the ticket prevented the bottom from falling out for the Democrat ticket.
The Post profile also confirmed that Biden wanted a weaponized Justice Department that persecuted Trump and protected Biden’s family.
“In private, Biden has also said he should have picked someone other than Merrick Garland as attorney general, complaining about the Justice Department’s slowness under Garland in prosecuting Trump, and its aggressiveness in prosecuting Biden’s son Hunter, according to multiple people familiar with his comments,” the Post report continued.
