Joe Biden’s Plans To Step Down Are Leaving Democrats With One Giant Worry

Joe Biden campaigned as a “transitional” candidate.

Many Americans think he will only serve one term.

And Joe Biden’s plans to step down are leaving Democrats with one giant worry.

As Conservative Revival reports:

Joe Biden was the oldest President ever sworn in for his first term at the age of 78 years old.

If Joe Biden runs for re-election in 2024 he will be 82 years old.

Few Americans believed Biden- who already appears to be showing signs of cognitive decline – would run for a second term that would end when Biden would be 86 years old.

However, Joe Biden may be considering running for re-election far more seriously than political observers first thought.

“Does a secret voluntary one-termer put four-term Franklin over the fireplace?” an unnamed Biden aide told POLITICO.

Biden’s allies told POLITICO that Biden believes he is the only Democrat that can defeat Donald Trump and that “Trumpism” must be vanquished.

POLITICO reported:

According to his allies, Biden believes that he is the Democrat best equipped to take on Trump, just as he did in the lead up to 2020. They also say that is driven by the idea that his legacy could be that of the president who defeated Trump and Trumpism, which he sees as an ugly, corrosive movement.

As Trump has gotten more serious about running again, so too has the Biden team’s resolve to seek a second term. But regardless of whether Trump pulls the trigger, the 2024 campaign is still poised to be a contest between the Biden legacy and Trump’s party. And Democrats close to the White House say that Trump’s grip on Republicans may be motivation enough.

For his part, it looks more likely that Donald Trump will run for re-election every day.

POLITICO reports:

“If he made a decision today, I suspect he’d pull the trigger,” said a close Trump ally. “I think it’s fair to say that it’s a 50/50 shot that he does it. It’s not hard to imagine that in Trump’s mind, if not for coronavirus, he would have easily won. So why not run?”

Some Americans believe Joe Biden is clearly diminished at the age of 78.

One stretch saw Biden fall three times while walking up the steps to Air Force One just days after he could not remember the name of his Secretary of Defense or the Pentagon.

Donald Trump tried to warn Americans that Joe Biden was “shot” in the 2020 campaign.

Should Joe Biden run for re-election in 2024 his fitness to serve another four years – when Biden already keeps the lightest schedule of any President in recent memory – that will end when he is 86 years old may be the dominant issue of the campaign.
