It’s every man for himself in the Democrat Party.
The party is not handling the election defeat well.
And now Joe Biden couldn’t believe this ally flipped on him in one devastating way.
As West Wing Daily reports:
The way that Joe Biden handled the COVID pandemic likely played a role in the defeat that Democrats took at the polls on election night.
Biden was trying to keep Americans safe from the virus, but he listened to the wrong people and ended up enacting policies that were harmful to the country.
Americans recognized that, and they decided they’d had enough of the Democrat approach to governing that had led to economic turmoil, school closures, and radical cultural changes.
These are the type of things that ultimately pushed Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia to leave the Democratic Party altogether after a lifetime in Democrat politics.
Now that he’s no longer in the party, and is leaving the Senate, Manchin is free to say what’s on his mind about Biden and the Democrats.
And he is not holding back as he criticizes the way that the COVID pandemic was handled by Biden and his advisors.
According to Fox News, “Outgoing Independent West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin slammed some of the advice President Biden received during his time in office, arguing that the guidance created blind spots for the president on inflation, immigration and Afghanistan.
“Appearing on CBS’s ‘The Takeout’ podcast on Friday, Manchin recounted how he tried to convince Biden to work across the aisle on the American Rescue Plan and how he warned about the dangers of inflation if Democrats went through with plans to extend unemployment benefits through October 2021, but was ignored thanks to the advice of 17 Nobel laureates.”
Manchin is exactly the person Biden should have been listening to, as he was probably the Democrat who was the most in-touch with the average American voter.
But instead, Manchin was effectively pushed out of the party, which is now dominated by progressive activists.
The article continues, “During his interview with CBS, Manchin noted that Congress had worked in a bipartisan manner with the Trump administration to send out stimulus checks in the early days of pandemic shutdowns, arguing that lawmakers had ‘erred’ on the side of action but later came to realize that pumping so much money into the economy ‘was a mistake.’”
There is simply no way to print trillions of dollars and pump it into the economy without creating a massive inflationary crisis.
It’s simple math that people in the government either didn’t think about, or were afraid to do, as they panicked in response to the growing pandemic.
Trump and Biden both shared responsibility for printing all of this money.
Manchin says that he tried to pump the brakes on it, but to no avail, and he is convinced that Biden was listening to people he shouldn’t have. Now, as a result, prices are higher and the economy is not as strong as it could be, something Trump will have to deal with in his second term.
