Kamala Harris Tries to Rebrand Herself as a “Moderate”
Kamala Harris knows that she cannot win the 2024 presidential election if she is perceived by the general public as a radical progressive.
The American people simply do not want to elect someone like that, and if that’s the type of campaign she runs, she is doomed from the start.
That’s why Harris has been going to wild extremes to change the positions that she has held for most of her career to seemingly “moderate” them.
But that begs the question of whether she actually plans on pursuing this so-called “moderate” agenda once in office, or whether she would revert right back to the progressive she’s always been.
The fact that she is trying to hide some of the positions she’s taken in the past, such as on gun control, is not a good sign.
And one report about her gun control agenda is going to send up major red flags.
Breitbart did a fact-check on the claim that: “During Tuesday night’s presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris claimed she and Tim Walz (D) ‘are not taking anyone’s guns away.’”
This is an important question, as there are many millions of gun owners in America, and not all of them are staunch Republicans. Some people lean left, but still own guns for their own personal protection. If Kamala Harris is going to get their votes, they will need to know that she isn’t going to take their guns away.
Unfortunately for them, the real answer might not be the one that they want to hear.
Harris Has a Long History of Supporting Gun Confiscation
Here is the verdict from Breitbart: “False. Harris has campaigned on banning AR-15s and other guns that Democrats label ‘assault weapons.’
“For example, on August 6, 2024, Breitbart News noted that during Harris and Walz’s first campaign event together, they pushed for a ban on AR-15s and other guns Democrats label ‘assault weapons.’
“And during a 2020 MSNBC/Giffords gun control event, Harris made clear she supported buying back AR-15s and similar guns.
“‘Buying back’ is Democrat lingo for confiscating with compensation. Moreover, it is the same program that Democrats like Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) have supported during their gun control pushes.
“Therefore, the claim that a Harris-Walz administration would not be ‘taking anyone’s guns away’ is false.”
A mandatory buyback goes much further than a regular “assault weapons” ban, which theoretically would grandfather in people who already own these guns. In fact, a mandatory buyback would require people to give up their guns, and receive compensation, under the threat of going to jail.
This is what Harris has supported in the past, and now is trying to conceal by gaslighting people on what she truly believes.
Harris should be upfront with the American people about her gun control plans instead of trying to muddy the waters.
