Liz Cheney Made This Bonehead Mistake That Will Have You Grinning From Ear To Ear

Liz Cheney made it clear she is no longer a Republican.

But Cheney’s plan to help the Democrats backfired.

And Liz Cheney made this bonehead mistake that will have you grinning from ear to ear.

As Black Eye Politics reports:

Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake wasn’t intimidated when Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) promised to “do everything” possible to “make sure Kari Lake is not elected,” even offering to campaign for Democrats.

On Fox’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” host Maria Bartiromo asked for Lake’s response to having Cheney work against her.

“That might be the biggest, best gift I’ve ever received,” Lake quipped. “I mean, the people of Wyoming can’t stand her, I’m pretty much sure that the people of Arizona don’t like Liz Cheney,” she continued.

Cheney only received 29% of the vote in her congressional primary election and after her loss created a new anti-Trump PAC to target MAGA candidates and “election deniers.”

At the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin on Saturday Cheney announced how she’d be working to help Democrats.

“In this election, you have to vote for the person who actually believes in democracy,” Cheney said, referring to Lake as an “election denier”  and “dangerous,” and claiming that electing her would be “putting the Republic at risk.”

“Here’s the deal, Maria. The Republican Party, the new Republican Party is the party of ‘We The People,’ it is no longer the party of warmongers,” Lake told Bartiromo. “And so, Liz Cheney should probably change her voter registration. Turns out she really is a Democrat after all.”

At the same event in Texas Cheney said she wouldn’t be voting for Harriet Hageman who won the Wyoming GOP congressional nomination.

Cheney isn’t even sure she wants Republicans to have a majority in Congress.

“It’s a tough question,” Cheney replied when asked whether she would prefer if the Democrats held a majority in the House after the midterms.

Lake responded on Twitter to Cheney’s remarks, saying, “She’s putting more energy into electing Democrats than she did into winning her own primary lol.”

Cheney also vowed to leave the Republican Party if former President Donald Trump is the 2024 GOP White House nominee.

“I certainly will do whatever it takes to make sure Donald Trump isn’t anywhere close to the Oval Office,” Cheney stated.

“I’m going to make sure Donald Trump, make sure he’s not the nominee,” Cheney went on. “And if he is the nominee, I won’t be a Republican.”

It’s unclear why Cheney even considers herself a Republican anymore.

The Wyoming Republican Party voted last year to no longer recognize Cheney as a member of the party.

“To further her own personal political agenda, Representative Liz Cheney has not only caused massive disruption, distraction and division within the House Republican Conference, but has also willingly, happily, and energetically joined forces with and proudly pledged allegiance to Democrat Speaker of the House Pelosi, as a means of serving her own personal interests while ignoring the interests, needs and expectations of Wyoming Republicans,” the resolution stated.
