Donald Trump shook up the Republican Party.

After months of speculation, Trump finally picked his running mate.

And Donald Trump named J.D. Vance his VP and you won’t believe what happened next.

As 2024 Battleground reports:

As soon as J.D. Vance was announced as the nominee for Vice President, it was inevitable that the media was going to target him with a smear campaign.

Sure enough, that is exactly what happened just hours after his name was put forward as the nominee by Donald Trump.

Vance has only been a U.S. Senator for a year and a half, so there isn’t much out there to target him with, but the media made sure to leave no stone unturned in their quest to smear him.

Ultimately, they decided to go with the angle that he is “islamophobic” by digging up a quote that he had made about immigration to the United Kingdom.

Now they are circulating this quote everywhere in an attempt to besmirch Vance’s reputation, and many people are disgusted by the lengths they will go to in order to hurt his campaign.

Politico reported: “Labour ministers have rejected a suggestion by Donald Trump’s new running mate that the U.K. is an ‘Islamist country.’”

“J.D. Vance, named Monday as the Republican vice presidential nominee, described Britain under the new Labour government as the world’s first ‘truly Islamist country’ to have a nuclear weapon.”

“It was a claim which came as a blow to Labour ministers, in office for less than a fortnight, who have been keen to curry favor both with Trump and Vance.”

Now Politico and other publications are trying to make Vance seem like a radical.

They are using these handful of words as “proof” that he can’t be trusted and shouldn’t be the Vice President of the United States.

Here is the full context of what Vance said: “I was talking with a friend recently and we were talking about [how] one of the big dangers in the world, of course, is nuclear proliferation, though the Biden administration doesn’t care about it.”

“And I was talking about what is the first truly Islamist country that will get a nuclear weapon, and we were like, maybe it’s Iran, maybe Pakistan already kind of counts, and then we sort of finally decided maybe it’s actually the UK, since Labour just took over.”

There’s no question that things are going to change a lot in the UK with Labour in power now, and that they’ve been far more friendly to unchecked immigration than other parties have.

Vance was simply pointing out that there is more of a risk of Islamists gaining power in the UK now that Labour runs the government.

But the media is trying to use this quote to smear him and make him toxic to voters.

This is perhaps a preview of what the rest of the campaign is going to be like, with the media coming after J.D. Vance.
