Mike Pence’s political comeback took a detour.

The former Vice President is trying to line up for a 2024 White House bid.

Mike Pence caught everyone off balance with this revelation to Fox News.

As Great American Daily reports:

More than 100 days after leaving office Mike Pence re-emerged in political life as a vocal critic of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Pence lost esteem in the eyes of Donald Trump and some of his base after January 6 when Pence explained he did not have the constitutional authority to reject the certified Electoral College results.

In a Fox News op-ed, Pence tried to establish his pro-Trump credentials by comparing the crowning legislative achievement of the Trump administration—the three-trillion-dollar Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017—to Joe Biden’s proposed three-trillion-dollar tax increase.

Pence explained how the 2017 tax cuts boosted the economy with job-creating rocket fuel.

“Within months, our economy took off like a rocket. America gained more than 7 million new jobs, unemployment plummeted to the lowest rate in 50 years, and more than 10 million people were lifted off of welfare – the largest reduction in poverty in modern history,” Pence wrote on FoxNews.com.

Pence added that cutting business taxes helped America grow its manufacturing base with thousands of new factories.

“Cutting taxes on American employers was a central part of our efforts to bring jobs and factories back home to the United States – and it worked. After losing 60,000 factories under the previous two administrations, America gained 12,000 new factories, because employers were no longer driven away by an exorbitant tax burden,” Pence added.

Former Vice President Pence compared the Trump administration’s approach to Joe Biden’s path of increasing taxes on the “rich” and business owners.

Pence noted that Biden’s proposed plan would raise the corporate tax rate in America to a higher level than Communist China.

“As part of his American Jobs Plan, Biden is proposing a massive tax hike on employers that will once again put American workers at a major disadvantage with their competitors in foreign countries. Biden’s tax hike will give the United States a business tax rate that is substantially higher than even Communist China,” Pence also wrote.

Polls have shown that among voters that consider themselves Trump supporters, Pence trails Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a hypothetical 2024 Republican presidential primary.

Governor DeSantis saw his star rise after DeSantis rejected Dr. Fauci, the corporate media, and Democrats’ demands for lockdowns and mask mandates.

DeSantis kept Florida open since last May and the state’s fared better than peer big states like New York and California that lived under strict lockdowns and mask mandates.

But among the portion of the GOP that consider themselves Republicans before Trump supporters, Pence is the first choice.

If Mike Pence wants to win the Republican nomination for president, he needs to raise his support with Republicans that consider themselves Trump supporters first.

And Pence believes he can do that by hugging closely to the record of the Trump administration and bashing Joe Biden’s time in office.
