Nancy Pelosi Faced A Big-time Reality Check That Told Her It Was Time To Retire

The clock is ticking on Nancy Pelosi’s career in Congress.

It may be approaching zero.

And Nancy Pelosi faced a big-time reality check that told her it was time to retire.

As American Patriot Daily reports:

Democrats spent months debating a multi-trillion-dollar socialist spending bill and ignored runaway inflation, the crisis at the border and the supply chain shortages.

That Democrat neglect – combined with a cultural backlash to critical race theory and transgender bathrooms – led to Republican Glenn Youngkin winning the Virginia gubernatorial election.

Virginia Republicans also won the lieutenant governor and attorney general elections as well as reclaiming the majority in the state House of Delegates.

The Republican sweep in Virginia exposed just how poisonous the political environment became for Democrats.

With Joe Biden’s slumping approval ratings weighing down Democrats in Virginia, reporters asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi if the election debacle caused the Democrats to reconsider their radical socialist agenda and change course.

“Does it change the agenda for the House?” a reporter asked Pelosi.

“No,” Pelosi shot back.

House Republicans taunted Pelosi on social media mocking Pelosi as a “lame duck speaker,” hinting that the Virginia result foreshadowed a Republican takeover in 2022.

“The people REJECTED Biden and Pelosi’s Far Left Socialist agenda last night,” the House Republicans posted on social media. “Pelosi is a LAME DUCK Speaker.”

In 2009, Republican Bob McDonnell romped to victory in the Virginia gubernatorial election.

McDonnell’s 18-point landslide previewed the GOP winning 63 seats in the House of Representatives – the biggest gain in history – and booting Pelosi from the speaker’s chair.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told reporters the day after the Virginia election that Republicans expanded their playing field and planned to contest 70 Democrat-held seats.

McCarthy also noted that in 2010 Pelosi rammed the massively unpopular Obamacare scheme through Congress and paid a political price.

“It’ll be more than 70 Democrats that will be competitive. There’s many that are going to lose their races based upon walking off the cliff from Nancy Pelosi pushing. She may not care if she loses. She lost 63 [seats] the last time she was speaker moving policy that the country didn’t care for. Many believe she won’t stay around, so is she going to be there to defend you?” McCarthy stated.

McCarthy predicted that if Democrats pushed forward with Biden’s socialist spending bill Democrats would lose even more seats than in 2010.

“What I do believe is if they continue to push these policies, it could be one of the biggest election losses for Democrats. … When she [Pelosi] was Speaker last time, losing 63 set a record, but it could be more competitive this time,” McCarthy concluded.
