Poll Shows Trump Taking the Lead in Key State of Michigan

Donald Trump needs to crack the fabled “blue wall.”

It’s the only way to 270 Electoral College votes.

And Donald Trump was jumping for joy over this swing state poll.

As American Patriot Daily reports:

Kamala Harris’s momentum was always unsustainable. Her temporary spike in poll numbers wasn’t based on her popularity, but simply on America’s relief that Joe Biden left the race.

People were not looking forward to a Biden-Trump rematch, and they were temporarily excited that someone else got in the race.

The problem is, the person who got in the race is Kamala Harris. And Kamala Harris has decisively proven that she is not a good candidate and has performed poorly as vice president.

Her campaign in the primaries in 2020 ended before the first votes were even cast because her poll numbers were so low.

Now her poll numbers in the 2024 general election are sinking just as fast, and it looks like this campaign could end with a familiar disappointment for her.

And when she sees this latest swing state poll, her jaw is going to drop.

According to Breitbart, “Former President Donald Trump has taken a narrow lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in Michigan, according to a recent poll.

“A WDIV/Detroit News poll conducted between August 26-August 29, found that 44.7 percent of ‘likely voters’ in Michigan supported Trump, while 43.5 percent supported Harris.

“The poll also found that 4.7 percent of voters supported former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., while 2.3 percent said they supported a third-party candidate for president, and 4.8 percent said they were undecided.”

Two things make this extremely concerning for Harris. First of all, Michigan isn’t even a state Trump necessarily has to win. He can still easily get 270 electoral votes without Michigan.

Secondly, Trump routinely outperforms his poll numbers. If he’s up 1.2 points in Michigan right now, it’s not unreasonable to expect him to win the state by even more if trends hold up.

The article continues, “The poll also found that among 91 percent of ‘definite voters,’ 45.7 percent expressed support for Harris, while 44.1 percent said they supported Trump. Another 3.9 percent of voters expressed support for Kennedy, 2.3 percent expressed support for a third-party candidate, and 3.9 said they were still undecided.”

These numbers make sense. The most active, politically-obsessed, and angry group of voters in America are upper-class white liberals. These make up a large portion of the “definite voters.”

However, especially in a presidential election, these are far from the only people who come out to vote.

Working Republicans may not make the cut as “definite voters” in this poll, but most of them will vote, and a huge portion of their votes will go to Trump.

That’s why Trump is winning with “likely voters” and is probably on track to win the state. If he does, it will be a disaster for Harris, as she needs Michigan to win the election.
