Ron DeSantis Signs Strong Pro-Life Bill

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis keeps racking up victories.

Each win drives the left even crazier.

And Ron DeSantis signed one piece of paper that will make Democrat’s brains melt.

As Great American Daily reports:

When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade Governor DeSantis promised to sign any pro-life legislation that the legislature sent to his desk.

With DeSantis eyeing a presidential campaign and looking to court Evangelical primary voters DeSantis signed legislation that protects human life after a heartbeat is detected which is at six weeks of pregnancy.

Democrats immediately sought to run a replay of last year’s midterm elections where liberals pummeled Republicans with smears about wanting to kill women by supporting pro-life legislation.

Establishment Republican consultants told their candidates to try and pretend the abortion issue doesn’t exist and focus their messaging exclusively on crime and inflation.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tried to get the ball rolling on this messaging with her response to DeSantis signing pro-life legislation.

“Today, Florida’s Republican supermajority-controlled legislature sent an extreme and dangerous new abortion ban to Governor DeSantis’s desk for signature. The ban flies in the face of fundamental freedoms and is out of step with the views of the vast majority of the people of Florida and of all the United States,” Jean-Pierre ranted.

“This ban would prevent four million Florida women of reproductive age from accessing abortion care after six weeks — before many women even know they’re pregnant. This ban would also impact the nearly 15 million women of reproductive age who live in abortion-banning states throughout the South, many of whom have previously relied on travel to Florida as an option to access care,” Jean-Pierre added.

But then something odd happened.

DeSantis immediately stopped talking about the issue and let Democrats dominate the messaging war.

DeSantis delivered the convocation at Liberty University.

And despite speaking at a Christian school and in front of what would likely be an audience most receptive to pro-life messaging DeSantis never once mentioned the heartbeat bill.

Establishment Republicans — who all secretly support abortion — constantly counsel pro-life conservatives like DeSantis to downplay or ignore their convictions.

But the Republican governors — even those in the swingiest of swing states like Georgia — that signed six-week heartbeat bills into law all won landslide re-election campaigns against Democrats that tried to make abortion the central focus of the campaign.

“Kemp, after signing 6-week limit, won by 8 points in a state Trump lost. Ohio gov DeWine signed a 6-week limit and won by 25 points in a state Trump carried by 8 points. Same story with Iowa gov Kim Reynolds, who won by 19 in a state Trump won by 8,” National Review’s John McCormack reported.

There is no avoiding this issue.

If Republicans try to play defense on the pro-life cause, they will lose in 2024.

If Republicans go on offense like the pro-life governors who won re-election and frame the debate around the extremism of the Democrat Party’s position of taxpayer-funded abortion on demand up until birth, Republicans will carry the day.
