Secret Service foiled another assassination attempt against Donald Trump.
Americans are learning about the assassin and his motivations.
And the Trump gunman had this awful secret in his past.
As Great American Digest reports:
The last person who tried to assassinate Trump, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was a bit of an enigma, as little was found about his political views aside from one small donation.
That does not seem to be the case at all with Ryan Routh, the latest person who has tried to kill the former president.
As more information comes out, it is becoming very clear that Routh is hyperpolitical and has strongly left-wing views that have caused him to viciously hate Trump.
It is becoming apparent that his extreme views are what led him to drive to Trump’s golf course and attempt an assassination on the former president.
Routh’s social media accounts are flooded with left-wing content that he has posted.
And while nothing on there specifically indicated that he was about to assassinate Trump, in hindsight it seems that his hatred towards his political “enemies” was boiling up for quite some time.
According to the New York Post, “The alleged gunman who authorities said targeted former President Donald Trump while he golfed in Florida on Sunday afternoon previously declared on social media that ‘Democracy is on the ballot’ this year and ‘we cannot lose’ — echoing the anti-Trump rhetoric used by Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden.”
“Routh, who has a lengthy criminal record from North Carolina, frequently posted about politics and exclusively donated to Democratic candidates and causes dating back to 2019.”
Negative ads are a part of politics right now, and politicians shouldn’t be held accountable for violence just because they ran negative ads.
However, the attacks that have been launched on Trump are different, because they are framed as existential threats.
Harris and Biden have tried to say that a Trump victory would mean the end of elections and the beginning of a brutal dictatorship. This seems to have been what motivated Routh.
The article continues, “He also bashed Trump in an April 22 post on X in which he declared, ‘DEMOCRACY is on the ballot and we cannot lose.’
“He advised Biden, 81, in an April 22 X post, when he was still running for re-election, to run a campaign around keeping ‘America democratic and free.’”
It seems that Routh’s rhetoric was getting crazier and more intense and he was whipping himself up into a frenzy about the upcoming election.
This is sadly becoming a more common thing in America as people are failing to keep politics in perspective and are making it their entire identity.
Sadly, Routh seems to have taken this to a violent extreme and tried to take out the former president, just like Crooks did a few months ago.
Thankfully Donald Trump was unharmed by this assassination attempt, but law enforcement had better figure out how to stop crazies like this before something truly tragic does happen.
