This Shocking 2024 Poll Was The Last Thing Donald Trump Ever Expected To See

Donald Trump is running for re-election.

But Trump may no longer be the frontrunner.

And this shocking 2024 poll was the last thing Donald Trump ever expected to see.

As American Patriot Daily reports:

For the first time in six years Donald Trump is facing a serious challenge to his leadership of the Republican Party.

After the midterm election Republicans are searching for answers about why the party lost a Senate seat and did not win the kind of majority in the House of Representatives that many were expecting.

Some conservatives believe Donald Trump hurt the party by intervening in swing state gubernatorial and Senate primaries.

Trump’s candidates went 2-14 in the general election after winning the primaries.

Some of the unease with Trump began to show up in polling data.

A new USA Today/Suffolk poll showed just 31 percent of Republicans wanted Trump to run for re-election in 2024 and 61 percent of GOP voters wanted Trump to pass on running for president a third time.

“By 2-1, GOP and GOP-leaning voters now say they want Trump’s policies but a different standard-bearer to carry them. While 31% want the former president to run, 61% prefer some other Republican nominee who would continue the policies Trump has pursued,” USA Today reported on the poll’s results.

The poll also made it clear who Republicans believe should be Trump’s successor: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

USA Today/Suffolk’s survey showed DeSantis holding a massive 56 to 33 percent lead over Trump in a 2024 primary.

“They have a name in mind: Two-thirds of Republicans and those inclined to vote Republican want Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to run for president. By double digits, 56% to 33%, they prefer DeSantis over Trump,” USA Today also reported.

If there was any Republican that emerged from the 2022 midterm election with their star on the rise it was Ron DeSantis.

In 2018 DeSantis – with the help of Donald Trump – won the gubernatorial election by just 30,000 votes.

But DeSantis did not moderate his positions after winning.

Instead, DeSantis led the opposition to Dr. Fauci’s COVID tyranny by keeping schools and businesses open, banned vaccine and mask mandates, fought woke corporations, and signed legislation stopping teachers from grooming children into transgenderism.

DeSantis’s conservative fighting posture proved popular at both the state and national level.

In November DeSantis increased his winning margin from 30,000 votes in 2018 to 1.5 million in 2022.

The USA Today/Suffolk poll also found DeSantis leading Joe Biden by a 47 to 43 percent margin whereas Trump trailed Biden 47 to 40.

Donald Trump is the only candidate currently running for president.

But these polling data show that Trump will not be the only candidate in the race for long.
