Donald Trump thought he could count on Trey Gowdy.

That trust turned out to be misplaced.

And Donald Trump will be red with rage when he sees the stunt Trey Gowdy just pulled.

As Great American Digest reports:

Trey Gowdy led the charges on Fox News to smear Matt Gaetz and destroy his nomination to serve as Trump’s attorney general.

Trump picked Gaetz to end the weaponization of the government and to drive out the rogue prosecutors who tormented him and his supporters with show trials and witch hunts for the last four years over January 6 and the Mar-a-Lago document hoaxes.

RINOs in the Senate refused to vote for Gaetz citing the false allegations the deep state spent the last three years smearing Gaetz with in the press about sexual misconduct involving a 17-year-old.

The Biden-Kamala Harris Justice Department investigated this case for 18 months and closed it without bringing charges because the allegations were baseless.

Gowdy attacked Gaetz every time he was on Fox News.

After Gaetz withdrew his nomination, Gowdy attacked Trump for making an “absurd” pick in Gaetz to run the Justice Department.

“The message for Republicans is don’t do it on the other side, either, with this absurd AG Pick that you just made. Justice is different,” Gowdy stated.

Gowdy also falsely claimed that Trump picked Gaetz to try and weaponize the Justice Department against his political foes.

“It is a combination of policy, law and also morality. You do not use our justice system as a political weapon. Voters rejected it in November and will reject it if Republicans try to do it. Some things rise above the din. The justice system is one of those things,” Gowdy added.

Gaetz wanted to remind Trump and his supporters that Gowdy’s been supportive of past witch hunts against Donald Trump.

“Trey Gowdy is and has always been a Deep State bootlicker,” Gaetz posted on social media.

Gaetz then included a clip from a previous Gowdy appearance on Fox News where Gowdy praised the FBI for doing the right thing in opening the Russia collusion investigation.

Gowdy even ignored that the allegations were a hoax and argued the FBI was right to treat these obvious lies seriously.

“I am more convinced that the FBI did what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump,” Gowdy stated.
