Democrats did not want to hear this bad news.
But that didn’t stop former Congressman Trey Gowdy.
And Trey Gowdy blasted Joe Biden with one reality check that left Democrats running for their lives.
As Black Eye Politics reports:
Democrats do not have the votes to pass Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion scheme to flip America into becoming a socialist nation.
West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin and Arizona Democrat Kyrsten Sinema will not sign on to trillions in new spending leaving Chuck Schumer two votes short of being able to ram the multi-trillion-dollar big government spending binge through the Senate.
Gowdy addressed this failure on the left to round up the votes for Joe Biden’s far-left agenda on Fox News’ “Special Report.”
The former South Carolina congressman mocked the Biden administration and the media for always blabbering democracy when Democrats tried to circumvent democratic norms and the Senate rules by attempting to stick multiple amnesty schemes in the $3.5 trillion socialist wish list bill.
Fortunately, the Senate parliamentarian rejected both attempts correctly ruling that amnesty for eight to 10 million illegal aliens was not a budgetary matter and Democrats could not include amnesty in the bill.
“I will say this. Jen Psaki used the word ‘democracy.’ ‘The Washington Post’
used the word ‘democracy.’ Let’s lay aside the fact that they tried to ram it through with a parliamentarian and put everything in one bill. Let’s give them credit for liking democracy,” Gowdy began.
Gowdy noted the foolhardy nature of trying to pass FDR New Deal-style legislation in a 50/50 Senate.
In 1933 Democrats held a 23-seat majority in the Senate.
Now, West Virginia’s Joe Manchin is the deciding vote and Gowdy pointed out to host Bret Baier that Joe Biden won zero counties in the Mountain State during the 2020 election so it should not come as a surprise that Manchin – who would like to run for re-election or governor in 2024 – would throw cold water on a $3.5 trillion socialist agenda bill.
“Bret, you and I won the same number of counties in West Virginia that Joe Biden did. And Arizona was less than one half of a percentage point. So don’t be lecturing Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema about democracy,” Gowdy stated.
Baier then played a clip of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez complaining about Joe Manchin not committing to the left’s agenda.
“Which senator are we negotiating with? Is this June Manchin? Is it September Manchin? Is it August Manchin? Will December Manchin be a different — will this be a different Senator that pops up?” Ocasio-Cortez stated.
Gowdy laughed at the idea that Ocasio-Cortez was going to win Manchin’s vote by mocking him.
“I love AOC’s political strategy, which is insult the person whose vote you need. I just don’t think it’s going to work,” Gowdy mockingly responded.
Biden’s agenda stalled in large part because of Biden’s feeble performance.
Whether it is because of cognitive decline or simple weakness, Biden has not been engaged in these talks.
And now there is party infighting as a civil war breaks out between socialists and Democrats representing red states.
