Megyn Kelly Says Trump Still Holds 2016 Debate Question Against Her

Megyn Kelly and Donald Trump have a love-hate relationship.

It just took a surprising turn.

And Megyn Kelly revealed this surprising secret about Donald Trump.

As Liberal Hack Watch reports:

Kelly and Trump began feuding during the 2016 election when Kelly led off the first GOP primary debate by hitting Trump with a “gotcha” question about his past comments on women.

Trump felt that Kelly was acting on the orders of Fox News executives who wanted to derail his campaign because they favored Jeb Bush.

In response, Trump boycotted Fox News for several weeks before eventually Kelly thought she buried the hatchet with Trump.

But Kelly told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling she thought wrong in that regard.

“I know you’ve interviewed him before quite a bit. Have you had him on recently? Would you like to have him on again?” Bolling asked Kelly about if she planned to interview Trump this election cycle.

Kelly said she interviewed Trump last September and that things got testy when Trump didn’t like Kelly’s questions about the sham criminal cases Democrats brought against him to interfere in the election.

Kelly also said it was clear Trump didn’t fully trust her because of their 2016 debate dust-up.

“So I had him on in September and I don’t know that he loved that interview,” Kelly stated.

“There was a contentious part about the criminal cases, and there were lovely parts too, you know, but Trump, he kind of wants it all to be lovely. He doesn’t want any contention, even though that works, you know, in terms of getting eyeballs to the interview, which is what he really likes. And since then he, I don’t know, he’s kind of gone on the attack against me a couple times publicly. He’s still really mad about that debate question, so not sure he’s gonna come on anytime soon,” Kelly continued.

“Still?” Bolling marveled.

“I think so,” Kelly shot back. “He brings it up a lot.”

“He does have a long memory when it comes to those things,” Bolling answered.

In the interview last September, Kelly tried to defuse the tension with Trump by telling him that she approved of the way he handled her question by joking that all the remarks Kelly brought up were only said about his one-time nemesis Rosie O’Donnell.

“It was awesome!” Kelly told Trump.

Trump didn’t think so and pointed out that his answer was irrelevant because the news coverage only focused on the questions which put him in the position of giving a “when did you stop beating your wife?” type of answer.

“No I got a little bit lucky. I came up with a good answer,” Trump said to Kelly. “But there are questions that you can ask that no matter who it is, the answer is never a great answer. You know, there’s never a great answer to certain questions. And I can give you ten of those questions right now. I just don’t want to.”

It’s a safe bet that Trump won’t be doing any more interviews with Kelly before the election.
