The weaponized justice system is also a tool Democrats use to protect the Biden family.
Republicans are learning that lesson the hard way.
And Hunter Biden caught the break of a lifetime with this corrupt deal.

Joe Biden did not just weaponize the justice system to settle political scores by targeting Donald Trump and his supporters for criminal prosecution.
A weaponized justice system can also protect Hunter Biden and Joe Biden from criminal investigations and impeachment inquiries.
It was no coincidence that days after Republicans on the House Oversight Committee produced bank records showing $20 million in foreign payments to Biden family members and associates, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed U.S. Attorney David Weiss – the same prosecutor who a judge caught in a corrupt bargain trying to slip Hunter Biden a lifetime get-out-of-jail-free card – as special counsel to oversee the Hunter Biden investigation.
“On Tuesday of this week, Mr. Weiss advised me that, in his judgment, his investigation had reached a stage at which he should continue his work as a special counsel. And he asked to be so appointed,” Garland stated.
“Upon considering his request, as well as the extraordinary circumstances relating to this matter, I have concluded that it is in the public interest to appoint him as special counsel,” Garland added.
Republicans saw this sham for what it was.
By naming Weiss special counsel, it allowed the Justice Department to hide behind an “ongoing investigation” – and judging by Weiss’s previous work Republicans understand the fix is in on this matter – to block Weiss from testifying before Congress this September.
Weiss already tried to negotiate a sweetheart plea deal to nip any investigation of Hunter Biden’s foreign lobbying that could lead to Joe Biden in the bud.
And since Weiss will supposedly be investigating Hunter Biden’s foreign lobbying it will allow Hunter Biden and the Biden family to stonewall records and testimony requests in an impeachment inquiry.
It also stood out that the Biden Justice Department and Special Counsel Jack Smith are rushing to try Donald Trump as soon as possible during the GOP primaries, but that appointing Weiss as special counsel will delay the resolution on the Hunter Biden matter until after the 2024 election.
Republicans blasted this move as another shameless attempt by the weaponized Justice Department to serve Joe Biden’s political interests.
“This action by Biden’s DOJ cannot be used to obstruct congressional investigations or whitewash the Biden family corruption,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy declared. “If Weiss negotiated the sweetheart deal that couldn’t get approved, how can he be trusted as a Special Counsel?”
“David Weiss can’t be trusted and this is just a new way to whitewash the Biden family’s corruption. Weiss has already signed off on a sweetheart plea deal that was so awful and unfair that a federal judge rejected it,” a statement from Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan declared.
“Let’s be clear what today’s move is really about. The Biden Justice Department is trying to stonewall congressional oversight as we have presented evidence to the American people about the Biden family’s corruption. Our Committee will continue to follow the Biden family’s money trail and interview witnesses to determine whether foreign actors targeted the Bidens, President Biden is compromised and corrupt, and our national security is threatened. We will also continue to work with the House Committees on @JudiciaryGOP and @WaysAndMeansGOP to root out misconduct at the Justice Department and hold bad actors accountable for weaponizing law enforcement powers,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer stated.
