Fox News Issues Legal Threat Against Tucker Carlson

Fox News wants a war with Tucker Carlson.

But no one thought Fox News would take the fight this far.

And Fox News just threatened to take Tucker Carlson to court over this video.

As American Patriot Daily reports:

Tucker Carlson made his comeback official by posting the debut episode of “Tucker on Twitter.”

The episode – which consisted of a 10-minute monologue where Carlson slammed the corporate media for lying to the public about the war in Ukraine among other stories – received 90 million views.

Fox News was furious.

And the network threatened Carlson with legal action over posting video to social media while technically still under contract at Fox News.

“Fox News Wednesday notified Tucker Carlson’s lawyers that the former prime-time anchor violated his contract with the network when he launched his own Twitter show on Tuesday, according to a copy of a letter obtained by Axios,” Axios reported.

Fox News claimed Carlson posting a video on social media breached his contract which prevents Carlson from working for a competitor.

“This evening we were made aware of Mr. Tucker Carlson’s appearance on Twitter in a video that lasted over 10 minutes,” the letter stated.

“Pursuant to the terms of the Agreement, Mr. Carlson’s ‘services shall be completely exclusive to Fox,’” the letter added.

Fox News wrote that Carlson’s contract says he is “prohibited from rendering services of any type whatsoever, whether ‘over the internet via streaming or similar distribution, or other digital distribution whether now known or hereafter devised.’”

Carlson’s lawyers scoffed at the absurd arguments Fox News made.

Twitter is not a competitor to Fox News.

Carlson has no signed agreement with Twitter.

Fox News arguing that Carlson cannot post videos to social media is the same thing as saying Tucker Carlson is not allowed to speak.

“Fox defends its very existence on freedom of speech grounds. Now they want to take Tucker Carlson’s right to speak freely away from him because he took to social media to share his thoughts on current events,” Carlson’s lawyer Bryan Freedman stated.

But silencing Carlson appears to be the whole point of this exercise.

“A source told Axios that Carlson was told by a senior Fox executive that the network’s goal is to keep him sidelined until 2025,” Axios also reported.

Fox News lost over one million viewers in primetime after firing Carlson.

With the 2024 election coming up Fox News does not want Carlson providing an alternative that could attract the audience Fox News already lost as well as anyone else growing disenchanted with the network’s turn towards the establishment.

And that’s why Fox News is playing hardball and even threatening Carlson’s right to speak on social media.
