After viewing an FBI document detailing President Joe Biden’s alleged “criminal bribery scheme,” GOP House Oversight Committee members said payments were reportedly received from the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma.
“Hunter Biden held a lucrative position on the board of Burisma while his father was vice president. The GOP said Thursday that the scheme was related to Joe Biden’s efforts as vice president to pressure the Ukrainian government to fire Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin. Republicans said the FBI form indicated Ukrainian businessman and Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky allegedly told the FBI informant that he paid $5 million apiece to Hunter and then-Vice President Biden to shake off a corruption investigation,” The Washington Examiner reported.
The confidential source told the FBI that Zlochevsky said he “paid” the Bidens “through so many different bank accounts” that it would be hard to trace the money.
This is especially pertinent due to the fact that Joe Biden leveraged $1 billion in aid to persuade Ukraine to oust its top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, in March 2016, who was investigating Burisma.
He later bragged about the firing during a 2018 appearance at the Council of Foreign Relations.
“I said, I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars. I said, you’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours,” Biden told the audience. “I looked at them and said, ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, son of a bi**h. He got fired.”
“There’s no doubt in my mind that Joe Biden is guilty of bribery 100 percent,” Rep. Anna Luna (R-FL) told reporters after viewing the document. “There was two separate transactions, one that went to Joe Biden for $5,000,000, one that went to Hunter Biden for $5 million.”
Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), who also saw the document, tweeted, “Joe, the money is hidden in the DOZENS of LLCs you & your family created to HIDE THE MONEY. You can run, but you can’t hide from House Republicans.”
President Biden wouldn’t even take the subject seriously when asked questions about his alleged involvement.
“Where’s the money?” he quipped when a reported noted that a House Republican had said the allegations were “worse than has been reported so far.”
“I’m joking. It’s a bunch of malarkey,” said Biden.
