John Fetterman Keeps Speculation Alive About a White House Run

Ambitious Democrats are laying the groundwork to succeed Joe Biden.

That includes a name no one ever would have expected.

John Fetterman turned Washington upside down with one plan to run for president.

As Liberal Hack Watch reports:

John Fetterman raised eyebrows with a trip to Iowa where he stumped for Joe Biden.

Politicians don’t set foot in the Hawkeye State for the good of their health; they want to put down roots and build relationships that will translate into endorsements and votes in a run for the White House.

It wasn’t just Fetterman’s travel that raised eyebrows.

Fetterman – who campaigned as a socialist Bernie Bro – wants to create a phony new persona of Fetterman as a Midwest moderate with a rhetorical pivot away from the most off-putting excesses of the left.

In an interview with POLITICO, Fetterman distanced himself from the pro-Hamas left by declaring his unconditional support for Israel in the war to destroy the terrorist group.

After making sure cameras caught him walking among pro-Hamas protesters waving Israeli flags, Fetterman explained that the real impediment to peace was the fact that Hamas desired to slaughter all Jews and wipe Israel off the map.

“I grieve, and it’s awful the incredible civilian deaths and the suffering. It’s awful. War is hell, as they say. But only one side has used civilians as human shields. Only one side has broken the cease-fires. Only one side will systematically rape, torture and mutilate Israeli women and girls in the most unspeakable, awful ways. … Without destroying Hamas, there will be no enduring peace and a stable, two-state solution,” Fetterman declared.

Fetterman also refused to take an easy, cheap shot at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the world leader who is second-most hated among Democrats only to Donald Trump.

“I don’t have a vote in that. That’s for the Israeli citizens. They have much more at stake. But what I can say [is] I believe that an overwhelming majority of Israeli citizens would want a senator standing with them and their right to destroy Hamas [and not] somebody that would splinter or peel away when things continue and as more and more antisemitism continues to go across college campuses, across our nation,” Fetterman continued.

Fetterman also wanted everyone to think he wasn’t one of these pro-open borders Democrats when he stated that Democrats needed to come to terms with the fact that border security didn’t equate to white supremacy.

“I hope Democrats can understand that it isn’t xenophobic to be concerned about the border,” Fetterman said in a separate interview with POLITICO. “It’s a reasonable conversation, and Democrats should engage.”

Fetterman expressed astonishment that Joe Biden allowed a population of illegal aliens equivalent to the city of Pittsburgh to enter the country.

“Honestly, it’s astonishing. And this isn’t a Fox News kind of statistic. This is the government’s,” Fetterman concluded. “You essentially have Pittsburgh showing up there at the border.”

Finally, Fetterman didn’t deny interest in running for president when asked by POLITICO.

“Fundamentally, about politics, you never go get high on your own supply. And I’m not thinking about 2028. I am only making sure to prioritize 2024,” Fetterman stated.

Fetterman is no moderate.

The Pennsylvania Democrat supports abortion on demand up until birth and eliminating the filibuster which would allow Democrats to pack the Supreme Court and add up to eight new states meaning it would be impossible for Republicans to even hold a majority in the U.S. Senate.

Fetterman is up for re-election in 2028, but it’s clear from his comments and travel that Fetterman has his eyes on a different, and bigger race in 2028.

2028 will feature an open Democrat primary and Kamala Harris will see multiple Democrats challenge her.

And Fetterman is making the bet that the identity-politics left will be politically toxic and that voters will be looking for a course correction among Democrats.
