Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s campaign reboot is not off to a good start.
This time the mess is of DeSantis’s own making.
And what Ron DeSantis admitted to Megyn Kelly landed him in hot water.

Ron DeSantis signed one of the strongest pro-life laws in the country when he put his signature on a bill protecting life after six weeks or when a heartbeat is detected in a baby.
But establishment Republicans – and especially the big-money donors that fund DeSantis’s campaign and super PAC – are either pro-abortion or embarrassed of the pro-life cause and want to downplay or abandon the issue.
That tension led to DeSantis trying to walk a tightrope in an interview with Megyn Kelly.
Kelly asked DeSantis if he would support a national pro-life law.
DeSantis refused to commit to doing so, instead falling back on his record saying he would use the bully pulpit to build support for the pro-life cause.
“I’ve been a pro-life governor,” DeSantis stated. “I’ll be a pro-life president and I’ll come down on the side of life.”
DeSantis also claimed the issue of abortion was left to the states and essentially washed his hands of a national pro-life law.
“I really believe now in our society it’s really a bottom-up movement, and that’s where we’ve had most success. — Iowa, South Carolina, Florida — and I think you’re going to continue to see a lot of good battles there,” DeSantis continued.
Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser blasted DeSantis’s comments as “unacceptable” and called on DeSantis to support a national 15-week pro-life law.
“Gov. DeSantis’s dismissal of this task is unacceptable to pro-life voters,” Dannenfelser declared. “A consensus is already formed. Intensity for it is palpable and measurable. There are many pressing legislative issues for which Congress does not have the votes at the moment, but that is not a reason for a strong leader to back away from the fight.”
Dannenfelser also took Donald Trump to task for failing to support a national 15-week pro-life law stating that Trump’s refusal to do so was a “morally indefensible position for a self-proclaimed pro-life presidential candidate to hold.”
Ron DeSantis is staking his entire campaign on the Iowa Caucuses that kick off the GOP primary.
Traditionally the pro-life Christian candidate wins the caucuses as evangelical Christians dominate the turnout.
But the latest Fox News poll shows Donald Trump leading DeSantis by 30 points as Trump’s Supreme Court justices casting the deciding votes to overturn Roe v. Wade provides Donald Trump with a reservoir of goodwill among evangelical Christian voters.
