John Fetterman Demands New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez Resign

John Fetterman isn’t shy about seeking the spotlight.

It’s not an instinct that serves him well.

And now John Fetterman made this public scene that left Democrats burying their heads in their hands.

As American Patriot Daily reports:

John Fetterman upped his pressure campaign on New Jersey Democrat Senator Bob Menendez to resign.

Prosecutors filed new charges against Menendez for acting as an unregistered foreign agent for the Egyptian government after previously indicting him, his wife, and three businessmen on bribery charges.

Menendez – who is up for re-election in 2024 – ignored Fetterman’s initial demand that he resign.

Fetterman then upped the ante claiming the Senate should expel Menendez after the charges for being an unregistered foreign agent dropped.

Other Democrats joined the call for Menendez to quit, but they realized it was futile as they had no forcing mechanism to make Menendez quit.

“These are rolling, devastating allegations,” Connecticut Democrat Senator Chris Murphy declared.

Murphy said his belief that Menendez should resign “hasn’t changed.” He continued, “It’s better for the Senate and the state of New Jersey if somebody else gets the chance to do that job and represent the state.”

“More than half of the caucus has spoken on this. I’m not sure what additional action can be taken,” a Senate Democrat reportedly told The Hill.

That didn’t deter Fetterman who confronted Menendez on a Senate escalator and mockingly told him it would be a great day to call it quits.

“The two senators also got into an in-person tiff as they rode the escalator in opposite directions to the Capitol from the Senate subway area Tuesday morning. According to sources, Fetterman told Menendez that Tuesday would be a great day to resign,” The Hill exclusively reported.

Menendez brushed off Fetterman’s demand when reporters asked him what happened and doubled down on the fact that he had no intention of resigning.

“I hope he doesn’t get consumed by it. He seems to be consumed by it. I think there’s more important things to the people of Pennsylvania,” Menendez told the press.

Fetterman then taunted Menendez on social media about a classified briefing on the Israel military operations to wipe out the Hamas terrorists who launched the deadly attack that killed 1,300 innocent Jews.

“Would it be awkward to attend a classified briefing on Israel when you’ve been accused of being a foreign agent for, let’s say, a country like Egypt. Asking for a friend,” Fetterman posted on X.

Fetterman let reporters know that he would never let this issue go.

What worries Fetterman is the fact that Menendez is up for re-election in 2024 and New Jersey is one of the most expensive states in the country to campaign in.

New Jersey is the only state in America that doesn’t have its own TV markets.

To run commercials in New Jersey, campaigns must buy time in the hugely expensive New York and Philadelphia markets.

Fetterman isn’t really worried about national security or Menendez’s personal ethics.

What Fetterman is chiefly concerned with is how Menendez running for re-election forces Democrats to spend tens of millions of dollars in an otherwise safe seat that could be used to help vulnerable incumbents in Ohio, Montana and West Virginia.
