Megyn Kelly Blasts Chris Christie for Running a Never Trump Presidential Campaign

Megyn Kelly was never known as a Donald Trump ally.

But Kelly calls balls and strikes as she sees them.

And Megyn Kelly went ballistic on this Never Trump traitor.

As Liberal Hack Watch reports:

RINO former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is running a single-issue presidential campaign of trying to derail Trump.

Christie supports gun control, a blank check for Joe Biden’s war in Ukraine and opposes banning mutilating children with transgender surgeries.

Beyond Christie’s opposition to Trump, Christie is way out of step with the conservative base.

Donald Trump never lets an insult go unanswered.

During a campaign stop in New Hampshire Trump jokingly scolded a member of the crowd for calling Christie a “fat pig.”

“Sir, please do not call him a fat pig. That’s very disrespectful. Don’t call him that,” Trump sarcastically admonished the man.

On her podcast Megyn Kelly played that clip and responded by noting that Christie attacks Trump as a criminal and a loser at every turn.

“Chris Christie’s basically I mean, every chance he gets, he calls Trump a criminal. I’d rather somebody call me a fat pig than a criminal,” Kelly told listeners.

Days before Trump joked about Christie’s weight, Christie posted on social media that he agreed with Jack Smith’s decision to hit Trump with a politically motivated indictment in the January 6 witch hunt that struck many Americans as a brazen act of election interference.

“The events around the White House from election night forward are a stain on our country’s history & a disgrace to the people who participated. This disgrace falls the most on Donald Trump. He swore an oath to the Constitution, violated his oath & brought shame to his presidency,” Christie wrote on social media.

Kelly’s guest, conservative Texas Congressman Wesley Hunt, agreed with Kelly’s take and pointed out that Trump was only going to attack someone who hit him first.

“Absolutely,” Hunt stated. “And this is and this is theater. This is politics. And President Trump gets this better than anybody else. He knows how to appropriately attack his opponent, to drive their polling numbers down, to get them out of the race. And that’s exactly what he’s doing…”

“Like, if you’re going to get nasty with him, he’s going to get nasty with you,” Hunt continued.

Polls show that Christie attacking Trump and Trump’s rejoinders drove down Christie’s numbers to the point where Christie was the most unpopular candidate in the GOP presidential primary.

Kelly then played a clip of Christie trying to win over voters with a sob story about his weight and trying to cast Trump as a fat-shaming bully.

Hunt wasn’t buying it, ripping Christie for insulting Trump at every single turn in harshly personal terms.

“He has been running his mouth for the past few years against President Trump. And President Trump is simply fighting back. That’s who President Trump is. He is a fighter,” Hunt declared.

Kelly agreed saying there is not one “heavyset” Trump supporter who would think that Trump is really mocking their weight by going after Christie as Trump supporters understand that Trump is an entertainer whose insult comic gimmick is part of Trump’s appeal.

“I know what you’re saying. I don’t think there’s one heavyset Trump supporter who actually is going to be offended thinking, ‘Oh he must think I’m a fat pig.’ Like he’s using these very derogatory terms to insult somebody who he can’t stand. Trump admitted that he himself has got a bit of a weight problem in the past,” Kelly declared.
