Rachel Maddow isn’t used to getting upstaged.
But Maddow ventured too far out on a limb.
And Rachel Maddow was stunned into silence after what just happened to her.

Special counsel Robert Hur’s report about the investigation into Joe Biden stealing classified documents forced a discussion about Joe Biden’s senility into the open.
Hur reported that he wouldn’t bring charges against Biden because a jury would find him too mentally deficient to understand he committed a crime.
“Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone from whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt,” Hur’s report read. “It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him—by then a former president well into his eighties—of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”
Joe Biden’s senility was obvious to many Americans during the 2020 campaign.
Biden would often not know what state he was in and confused his wife for his sister.
The media actively sought to cover up Biden’s infirmity out of fear it would help Donald Trump win the election if they understood his opponent was enfeebled.
There is no more playing that game thanks to the Hur report.
Rachel Maddow had difficulty processing this truth even when one of her co-hosts tried to explain the reality of the situation to her.
Chris Hayes attempted to level with MSNBC viewers and pointed out that there is no way to inoculate Joe Biden from the age issue like you could if one of his issue positions was outside the mainstream.
There is no turning back time and each day Joe Biden grows older and more cognitively impaired.
“If someone says, ‘You’re too far left,’ you can tack to the center. You, you, there’s no, the man is 80 years old!” Hayes declared.
This fact of life freaked out Rachel Maddow who tried to argue that since Joe Biden rides a bike he can present an image of vitality.
“He rides a bike,” Rachel Maddow exclaimed.
Hayes wasn’t buying what Maddow was selling and returned to the fact that Joe Biden is 81 and won’t be getting any younger.
“But he is the age he is and so it’s a very useful political attack for that reason,” Hayes shot back.
Maddow’s claim of Biden’s bike-riding habit mitigating his age issues flies in the face of the fact that it was one of Biden’s mishaps on his bike that got the ball rolling with a lot of Americans on the idea that Biden was too decrepit mentally and physically to be president.
NBC’s own poll found just 23 percent of Americans believe Biden to be mentally and physically fit to be president.
It’s difficult to see that number improving in light of the Hur report declaring Biden mentally incompetent to stand trial.
